Transparency Policy

Last Updated: September 26, 2024

At MSP Vendors, we are committed to maintaining a trustworthy and transparent platform for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and software vendors. This policy outlines our practices to ensure fairness, honesty, and openness in all our operations.

Review Integrity

We take the integrity of reviews on our platform seriously. To ensure the accuracy and authenticity of reviews:

  • All reviews are subject to verification before publication.
  • We use both automated systems and manual moderation to detect and prevent fake reviews or review bombing.
  • Users must have a verified account to submit a review.
  • We encourage detailed, specific feedback in reviews to increase their value and authenticity.
  • If we suspect coordinated efforts to manipulate reviews, we investigate and take appropriate action, which may include removing reviews or suspending accounts.

Mandatory Price Visibility

MSP Vendors is committed to providing transparent and accurate pricing information for all products and services listed on our platform. We maintain a strict policy of mandatory price visibility.

We will not accept any requests from vendors to hide or obscure pricing information that we have determined to be accurate for their product or service. Our pricing data is collected through various means, including direct communication with vendors.

We also gather pricing information from public sources, including forum threads, vendor websites, other third-party listing platforms, and any other available means.

If you are a vendor and need to update your pricing, please create a vendor account and submit a request.

Paid Promotions Disclosure

We believe in full transparency regarding our commercial relationships with vendors. When a vendor pays for promotion on our platform:

  • Featured Software listings are clearly marked as "Sponsored," "Paid," or "Featured."
  • Sponsored content in blogs, whitepapers, or social media posts is explicitly labeled as such.
  • We maintain editorial independence, ensuring that paid promotions do not influence the content of user reviews or our overall ratings.

Leadership Integrity

At MSP Vendors, we pride ourselves on the integrity and impartiality of our leadership team:

  • Our executive and director suite is composed of professionals who have not held decision-making positions within MSP vendor companies.
  • This independence ensures that our platform operates without inherent biases or conflicts of interest that could arise from past affiliations.
  • Our leadership's commitment to neutrality allows us to evaluate all vendors objectively, without favoritism or prejudice, and make decisions that prioritize the needs of the MSP community.
  • We are dedicated to preserving this independent stance to ensure fair and equitable treatment for all vendors and MSPs on our platform.

Legal Requests and Dispute Resolution

We respect the rights of both vendors and MSPs in disputes over review content:

  • If a vendor submits a legal request to remove a review, we carefully evaluate the claim.
  • We have a dispute resolution process that allows vendors to contest reviews they believe are inaccurate or unfair.
  • During the dispute process, we mediate between the vendor and the MSP to reach a fair resolution.
  • If a dispute cannot be resolved satisfactorily, and we believe the review to be accurate, we may display a warning banner on the vendor's profile indicating an unresolved dispute.
  • This warning banner cannot be removed unless the dispute is resolved or a court order mandates its removal.

Our dispute resolution process is designed to address situations where a vendor contests a review they believe to be inaccurate, unfair, or in violation of our platform policies.

The process begins when a vendor submits a formal dispute through the "Contest Review" button on the review in question. The vendor must provide specific reasons for contesting the review.

Upon receiving a dispute, our moderation team conducts a preliminary assessment within five business days.

The next step involves notifying the MSP who left the review about the dispute. The MSP is given five business days to respond.

If the MSP responds, we enter a mediation phase where we facilitate a dialogue between the vendor and the MSP.

In cases where mediation is unsuccessful, our moderation team makes a decision based on all available information.

Once a decision is reached, we implement it within two business days and notify both the vendor and the MSP of the outcome. An appeal process is available where either party can request a review by a senior moderator.

Vendor Approval Process

To maintain the quality and relevance of our platform, we have a careful vendor approval process. We do not allow the following types of vendors on our platform:

  • Marketing Companies Primarily Focused on MSPs
  • General Business Services Not Tailored for MSPs
  • Companies with a History of Unethical Practices (fraud, deceptive marketing, data protection violations, bribery, IP violations)
  • Vendors with Consistently Poor Customer Service
  • "Snake Oil" Vendors offering products of questionable benefit
  • Personal Services Unrelated to MSP Operations
  • Consumer-Focused Products Without Enterprise Offerings
  • Vendors Offering Illegal or Fraudulent Services
  • Political or Religious Organizations
  • Cryptocurrency and High-Risk Financial Services
  • Non-IT Training and Education Services
  • Hardware Manufacturers Without MSP Programs
  • Individual Freelancers or Contractors
  • Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Companies
  • Companies Without Proper Licensing or Certification

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We are committed to continuously improving our transparency and fairness. We welcome feedback from both MSPs and vendors on how we can enhance our practices. For any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact our support team at support@mspvendors.com.
